DualCapture

Best app to record reaction videos with both cameras on iPhone

For a reaction video you need the front camera on your face and the back camera on the scene, in one take. DualTake, SplitRig, MixCam, Dualgram and DualCapture all do it. SplitRig is free. DualCapture keeps your face as its own file. Checked October 24, 2026.

How to pick

Want it free: SplitRig. Want the lowest one-time price for no watermark: DualTake. Want to fix the face track later without re-shooting: DualCapture or Dualgram, because both keep the front file separate.

If your reaction is to a video on another screen, a screen recording plus a front camera is a different job. See record yourself and a reaction.

What none of these fix

Apple multi-camera capture needs an A12 chip or newer (Apple). Audio comes from one mic, so reacting out loud over loud audio can drown your voice.

Try DualCapture

Free to download. Film your face and the scene in one take and check the files.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record a reaction with both cameras at once?

Yes, with an app that uses Apple multi-camera capture. The stock Camera app does not.

Which reaction app is free?

SplitRig says it is free with no ads. Several others are free to download with paid plans.

Can I edit my face and the scene separately?

Only if the app saves separate files. DualCapture and Dualgram list them.

Does it work on any iPhone?

Apple says A12 or newer, so iPhone XS and XR onward.

Can I react to a YouTube video this way?

Not with this method. It films the real world, not your screen.

Where is the reaction-video guide?

See the [reaction video app](/reaction-video-app) page.
